Skip bin waste types

✅ What CAN Go in a Skip Bin

  • General household waste – furniture, appliances, boxes and clutter
  • Green waste – branches, leaves, grass and prunings
  • Light builders waste – timber, plaster and renovation debris
  • Mixed builders waste – bricks, tiles, rubble and renovation waste
  • Soil and fill – in our heavy waste bins, with no weight limits
  • Concrete only – 100% concrete (reo is fine) at a cheaper price

❌ What CAN’T Go in a Skip Bin

  • Asbestos
  • Poisons, chemicals and paints
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Gas bottles
  • Food scraps
  • Tree stumps
  • Synthetic grass
  • Silica dust (from benchtop or concrete cutting or grinding)

Mattresses and tyres can go in, but there’s a surcharge for each item. Let us know when you book.

Why Some Items Aren’t Allowed

Items like asbestos, chemicals, paints and gas bottles are hazardous and have to be handled and disposed of separately. If they turn up in a skip bin, the bin may not be able to be collected until they’re removed, and extra charges can apply.

Not Sure About Something?

Give us a call on (03) 9462 6888 before you load it. It’s much easier to check first than to take something back out of the bin.

Got a lot of soil, concrete or rubble? See our landscaper and concreter pages for our no-weight-limit heavy waste bins.
