Skip Bin Hire FAQs

What size skip bin do I need?

For a bathroom reno a 3m³ or 4m³ is usually right, a kitchen reno 4m³ or 6m³, and a full strip-out or extension 9m³ or 12m³. See our skip bin size guide, or call us and we’ll help.

Do your skip bins have weight limits?

Our heavy waste bins in 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8m³ have no weight limits and no extra fees – ideal for soil, concrete, bricks and tiles. Call us to talk through the right bin for heavy loads.

Is there a cheaper price for concrete?

Yes. If your load is 100% concrete (reo is fine) we have a cheaper concrete-only price. It can’t be mixed with bricks, tiles or other waste.

Can I get an excavator and a skip bin delivered at the same time?

Yes. Book an excavator, Dingo or tracked dumper with your skip bin and we’ll deliver them together.

Can I get same-day delivery?

Yes – book before 11am and we can usually deliver the same day. Conditions apply.

How long can I keep the skip bin?

Standard hire is 7 days. If you need it longer, call us and we can arrange an extension.

Do I need a council permit?

Not if the bin fits on your property. If it has to go on the road, footpath or nature strip you need a council permit – and for Darebin jobs we can waive the permit fee. See skip bin permits in Darebin.

What can’t go in a skip bin?

Asbestos, poisons, chemicals, paints, liquids, gas bottles, food scraps, tree stumps, synthetic grass and silica dust. Mattresses and tyres attract a surcharge. See what can go in a skip bin.

Do you offer trade prices?

Yes – we have a trade price list for builders and regular customers, and fast swap-overs. Call us to set it up.

Which areas do you deliver to?

Darebin and Melbourne’s northern suburbs, including Preston, Reservoir, Northcote, Thornbury, Fairfield, Alphington, Kingsbury, Bundoora and Macleod. See all areas.
